Portland Revolving Restaurant is Closing

Hello Portland,

I am sad to announce the closing of Portland Revolving Restaurant as of today. We started this restaurant with the humble vision of putting Portland, OR on the map of world-class cities like like New York, NY; Seattle, WA; Toronto ON or Covington, KY by finally allowing residents and visitors to eat crab-legs while enjoying a flavor enhancing slow rotation atop fine commercial real estate. Chef William Barretta, and the rest of the team, brought this vision to life 14 years ago, attracting countless culinary enthusiasts to the downtown area to delight their senses with our award winning cuisine and enjoy everything our lovely downtown has to offer.

Unfortunately, promises made by the City of Portland have not been kept and have ultimately forced our hands in making this decision. It would be unethical for us to continue to operate a business that puts our workers and patrons in a position where their safety is recklessly compromised. If you are a Portland resident, you probably understand that the city government has been failing its core constituency with its inattention to actual solutions regarding its Vision Zero plan to eliminate traffic and pedestrian deaths by 2025.

The Portland Revolving Restaurant team no longer has faith that the city government is committed to doing what it takes to ensure this goal, even when the solutions are simple.

When these conditions are met, the team will be more comfortable bringing our revolutionary dining experience back to the urban core. Until then, thank you for all the workers and patrons that we have known and loved over the course of our operation.

Sincerely

The Team at Portland Revolving Restaurant
